New Group at IIMCB: Laboratory of Cellular Proteostasis Led by Dr. Lidia Wróbel
As of September 2024, a new research group has been established at IIMCB: the Laboratory of Cellular Proteostasis, led by Dr. Lidia Wróbel, previously affiliated with the University of Cambridge. The lab investigates how cells maintain protein homeostasis and how cellular stress responses can be harnessed to understand and treat diseases such as neurodegeneration.
Dr. Wróbel’s group focuses on protein folding and quality control mechanisms, including mitochondrial proteostasis and the unfolded protein response, using proteomic, biochemical, and cell biology approaches.
This group was established within the framework of the RACE WP1 entitled: “Establishment of new research groups.”
