Aneta Jończy Completes Internship Focused on Mouse Liver Organoid Systems
Aneta Jończy from the Laboratory of Iron Homeostasis completed an internship focused on the methodological aspects and technical principles of mouse liver organoid systems. The training provided her with hands-on experience in advanced in vitro models designed to better reflect the complexity of liver tissue.

During the internship, she worked on approaches involving the integration of different liver cell types cultured in vitro to create a more complex, multicellular model. In particular, she was introduced to the concept of liver assembloids, which may enhance understanding of cellular communication and provide a valuable platform for studying intrinsic organization within the liver microenvironment.
I acquired skills that allowed me to perform several histological stainings using liver cells organoids and gained practical tips related to organoids preparation for molecular analysis. Additionally, I had learned some practical steps and equipment set up methodology to generate a mouse organotypic model for the study of the liver using the Precision Cut Liver Slice technique, said Aneta Jończy.
