New Group at IIMCB: Laboratory of RNA Viruses Led by Dr. Stefan Bresson

In January 2025, IIMCB launched a new research group – the Laboratory of RNA Viruses, headed by Dr. Stefan Bresson, formerly at the University of Edinburgh. The lab aims to uncover how RNA viruses manipulate host RNA metabolism and how host cells detect and respond to viral RNA.

Dr. Bresson’s team applies a multidisciplinary approach combining RNA biology, biochemistry, and transcriptomic techniques to explore virus-host interactions and mechanisms of innate immunity.

This group was established within the framework of the RACE WP1 entitled: “Establishment of new research groups.”
