IIMCB at the German Embassy’s Open Day – Inspiring the Next Generation Through RNA Science

Members of the Laboratory of RNA–Protein Interactions – Dioscuri Centre, led by Dr. Gracjan Michlewski, participated in the event, engaging with many visitors — including children and their families – to share the wonders of molecular biology. Through hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations, they introduced the basics of gene expression, RNA biology, and cell function, showing how molecular processes relate to human health and disease. The IIMCB team booth invited curiosity and inspired young minds to explore the world of science.

During the event, visitors could also take home copies of our Annual Report 2023, the educational booklet “Be Healthy as a Fish”, and the 25th Anniversary Brochure of IIMCB. The printing of all materials was funded by the RACE project.

We thank the German Embassy for the opportunity to take part in this unique event celebrating Polish–German friendship, science diplomacy, and public engagement in research.

This outreach initiative supports the goals of the RACE project (WP6: Dissemination and Communication) – promoting public awareness of RNA and cell biology, strengthening science–society dialogue, and encouraging the next generation of researchers.
