Shaping Scientific Careers: Expectations, Leadership, and Lab Management

The training session led by Prof. Susan Gasser, a member of the International Advisory Board, took place on January 7, 2026. The event brought together participants at different stages of their scientific careers, including PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and senior researchers.

The programme focused on key aspects of academic career development. PhD students discussed expectations related to doctoral training and long-term career paths in science. Postdoctoral researchers explored future perspectives of biomedical research, with particular emphasis on career potential and laboratory leadership. The final session was dedicated to researchers and senior researchers and addressed best practices in effective lab management.

The training provided valuable insights into career planning, leadership skills, and the evolving landscape of biomedical research.
